Description: The Federal Public Defender Program represents indigent persons charged with the commission of federal crimes in the Northern District of Illinois.

Internship/Seasonal Positions: Students are assigned to 2-3 lawyers who they actively assist with their case load. Students perform legal research and writing under the supervision of these attorneys, The Substantive topics will vary with the cases being handled by the particular attorney. Students have the opportunity to be exposed to narcotics, bank robbery, fraud and firearms cases. Students are encouraged to observe court proceedings and to attend meetings with clients
