Description: The Office of Hearings and Appeals is comprised of the Office of Administrative Law judges, the Office of Higher Education Appeals and the Civil Rights Reviewing Authority. The office serves as the quasi-judicial arm of the Department in cases involving civil rights, student financial assistance, audit and recovery of funds, debarment and suspension of participants and many other issues. They provide and independent forum for resolution of disputes involving federal funds.

Internship/Seasonal Positions: Interns research and draft decisions and orders for the Administrative Law Judges. Interns are involved with all phases of the adjudicative process. While some part-time internships are available during the school year students are required to commit to full time during the summer.
