Description: The Office of General Counsel provides in house legal assistance to the Department's operating divisions and programs. It's work supports enforcement of federal statutes prohibiting discrimination in funding or programing in education. The office also drafts proposed legislation to the Congress.

Internship/Seasonal Positions: First and Second year law students are hired for the internship program. Interns may be assigned to work with one or more divisions within the office. Interns are exposed to a variety of legal and programmatic areas. Interns generally perform research and writing assignments or participate in litigation activities.
