Description: The GAO's major responsibilities are carried out principally through auditing and evaluating federal programs, functions, and financial operations.

Internship/Seasonal Positions: Summer interns are assigned to 1 or 2 divisions depending on the length of their stay with this office. Interests of the attorneys and office needs are considered in making all assignments. Summer interns are exposed to the actual work of the office, under the same work conditions and subject to the same supervision and guidance as staff attorneys.
