Organization Description: Africare helps Africa. A private, non-profit organization, founded in 1971, Africare celebrated its 35th anniversary of assistance to families and communities Africa-wide. Areas of assistance include agriculture, water, environmental management, health and emergency humanitarian aid. Africa also supports projects in private-sector development and governance.

Internship: Africare has 8 offices which can benefit from a total of 40 hours of work from interns each week. Interns must work a minimum of 16 hours per week, therefore, two interns are possible for each office. Interns working 16-24 hours per week are considered part-time and receive $25/week. Full time interns working 24 hours or more receive $50/week. A student enrolled into an accredited college or university, with excellent research and writing skills and work habits, self-starter's drive , ability to work cooperatively, willingness to learn and a sincere interest in Africa is considered.

Organization Description: The American Hellenic Institute is an independent public policy trade association which provides an organization and program for strengthening trade and commerce and related matter between the U.S. and Greece, the U.S. and Cyprus, and within the American Hellenic community. Internship: The AHI offers several internship positions during the year. Interns participate in a variety of activities such as monitor legislation and Congressional hearings, liaison with Congressional offices, conduct research on issues affecting U.S.-Greece-Cyprus relations for Congressional testimony and their handbook, and writing memoranda, press releases and letter. Organization Description: The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee is an Arab American civil rights organization. Internship: Since 1981 over 400 students have participated in the Committees Research Institute Intern Program. Students gain practical training in community organizing, research and writing, media relations, legal issues, political action, information technology and educational work. The Summer program offers a stipend of $1250 for undergraduates and $2000 for graduate students. This amount is prorated during the school year.

Organization Description: CSPI works to evaluate the effects of science and technology on society and to promote national policies responsive to consumers' interests. CSPI focuses primarily on health and nutrition issues, disclosing deceptive marketing practices, dangerous food additives or contaminants, and flawed science propagated by profits. Findings are communicated in press interviews and a variety of educational materials.

Internship: Interns work in a variety of areas at CSPI. Among the areas offered in the current year are Nutrition and Public Policy, Nutrition Action Healthletter, Legal Affairs, Alcohol and Public Policy, Food Safety, Marketing, Fundraising, and Communications. Interns are available for undergraduates (in a variety of academic majors), graduate students and law students.

Internship: Full and part-time internships are offered in the following areas: International Communications, Business and Economic Policy, Domestic Issues, Political-Military Affairs, and Regional Studies.
